Publishers and Authors Honored for Book Publishing Excellence

Congratulations to all the winners honored for book publishing excellence.

HIGHLAND CITY, FL – October 11, 2010 – On Saturday, October 9, 2010, the Florida Publishers Association (FPA) presented its 2010 President’s Book Awards to members whose books were chosen as the best in 16 different categories and one special category.

FPA association executive Betsy Lampe, president of Rainbow Books, Inc., Lakeland, FL, was the mistress of ceremonies for the President’s Book Awards Banquet at The Helmsley Sandcastle Hotel on Lido Beach, Sarasota.

The evening awards program was part of the two-day FPA Publishing Ed-U-Conference, themed “Experience Speaks!” Participants attended presentations by nationally recognized book marketing expert John Kremer of Open Horizons in NM, FPA president Chris Angermann of New Chapter Publisher in Sarasota, and FPA-member publisher Kyle Miller of Jungle House Publications in Sanibel.

Winners were selected from 61 entries by the competition’s 28 judges (25 librarians from across Florida and 3 members of nationally recognized book design firms). Gold and silver medalists received a medal, a full-color printed award, award certificates and President’s Book Awards Winner labels for their book covers. One gold and up to two silver medals were awarded in each of the following categories:

Adult Nonfiction:

GOLD MEDAL WINNER — Conquer Prostate Cancer: How Medicine, Faith, Love and Sex Can Renew Your Life by Rabbi Ed Weinsberg, with Dr. Robert Carey, published by Health Success Media (publisher and authors in Sarasota)

Don't Bring It to Work is a must read. This book gives you the tools and tips to make a work/life transformation. You not only will become a better leader, you will become a better human being.

These are all wonderfully written books. I have read some of them already, I will definitely check out the others. Thank you for posting this list. It is a great guide.
