The Write Way to Grieve, Journaling Through the Aftermath of a Suicide by Terri Johnson

Terri Johnson recently published her first book, The Write Way to GrieveJournaling Through the Aftermath of a Suicide.  It was released via Covenant Books in March, 2018.  She will be participating in the Meet the Authors Book Fair at the Eau Gallie Civic Center on November 17th and 18th, 2018.  Her book is currently available on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and e-books.

The Write Way to Grieve was written over a twenty seven year period that chronicles the author's  personal journey through grief when her youngest son, Ryan, committed suicide at school, at the age of fourteen. The family was living in Palm Bay, Florida at the time of Ryan’s death.  Her story uses her personal journals, prose and poetry as she struggled to cope with the guilt, social stigma and unanswered questions associated with suicide.  She wrote this book to inform others of suicide awareness, prevention and intervention so Ryan’s death would not be in vain.  For her, writing was the way she dealt with grief.

Terri Johnson is currently living in Winter Haven, Florida, but still has strong connections to the Melbourne area, having grown up on Indialantic, and graduated from Melbourne High School.  Her 97-year-young Dad still calls Melbourne home, and her ties are still there with him and other long term friendships that were developed during the many years of growing up and raising children there.  The repercussions of a suicide are devastating.  On November 29th of this year Ryan will be gone twenty eight years.  Terri looks look forward to participating in the Meet the Authors Book Fair to share her story with others, and offer hope for fellow survivors.

The Sea Glass Gift by Julie Rogers Martin

Julie Rogers Martin will be featuring her new novel, The Sea Glass Gift, at the book fair in the Eau Gallie Arts District on Nov. 17th.

Combining the intrigue of New Orleans, with the allure and science of glassblowing, Jenna’s story, based on a true one, is a tale of souls on the edge, which captures the hope that the broken bits of life, like shards of glass, can be transformed into spectacular displays of artistry. As a young adult, Jenna found solace from her pain in a New Orleans glassblowing studio as well as tutoring children in a nearby housing project. The transparency and defiant durability of the children remind her of the glass she is shaping and together they help her find meaning amidst the ambiguity of her sexuality, spirituality and strength. Now grown, Jenna relives the childhood memories that nearly destroyed her after being contacted by the son she gave up for adoption at birth. As they exchange letters, they uncover insights about the relations among fragility, transparency, and destruction in a world of persistent change.

Topgun Days by Dave Baranek

Topgun Days straps readers into the Navy's hottest jet fighters, a world many have seen in movies and television, but few have experienced. Readers quickly understand the thrills of roaring afterburners and supersonic shockwaves, and the split-second terror when our amiable narrator Bio ejects from his crashing fighter. Readers also experience the human side, sharing Bio's aspirations and humorous stumbles, and ultimately the satisfying triumph of becoming a Topgun instructor, the best of the best. While Bio does indeed make it to the top of the pyramid, he keeps his sense of joy that comes with such an accomplishment and his keen fascination with the technical and visceral aspects of dogfighting in jet fighters. His engaging writing will have readers feeling the g-forces, as he describes events and sights most people have never imagined.

Author Dave Baranek grew up in Jacksonville, Florida, where he dreamed of becoming a fighter pilot. He eventually became a radar intercept officer, the back-seater in the Navy's F-14 Tomcat fighter when his eyesight deteriorated from 20/20. He enjoyed adventures and success, including serving as an instructor at the prestigious Topgun school where he helped to make the movie "Top Gun," and later commanding an F-14 squadron. Dave retired in 1999 following a 20-year career and in 2018 settled in Satellite Beach, Florida.

His website is [http://www.topgunbio.com, ]www.topgunbio.com, and he can be reached at bio@topgunbio.com.

Dave will be at the Meet The Authors' Book Fair on November 17 and 18 in the Eau Gallie Civic Center during the ArtWorks festival in the Eau Gallie Arts District in Melbourne Florida.

Author Brian Kilmeade Signing His Book
Andrew Jackson and the Miracle of New Orleans

New York Times bestselling author Brian Kilmeade will be at the Roth Family Jewish Community Center of Greater Orlando on Sunday, November 25th at 5:30pm. He will be signing his latest book, Andrew Jackson and the Miracle of New Orleans, now available in paperback!

About the book: Another history page-turner from the authors of the #1 bestsellers George Washington’s Secret Six and Thomas Jefferson and the Tripoli Pirates, now with an afterword delving into Jackson’s influence on later U.S. Presidents.

Andrew Jackson had to convince President Madison and his War Department to take him seriously, even though he wasn’t one of the Virginians and New Englanders who dominated the government. He had to assemble a coalition of frontier militiamen, French-speaking Louisianans, Cherokee and Choctaw Indians, freed slaves, and even some pirates. And he had to defeat the most powerful military force in the world—in the confusing terrain of the Louisiana bayous. In short, Jackson needed a miracle. The local Ursuline nuns set to work praying for his outnumbered troops. And the Americans, driven by patriotism and protected by prayer, began the battle that would shape our young nation’s destiny.

About the author: Brian Kilmeade joined Fox News in 1997, where he was soon named co-host of Fox & Friends and still thrives today. Every weekday morning, Kilmeade provides viewers with the latest on the breaking news, sports, politics and entertainment with his ability to interview and provide insight into newsmakers, politicians, celebrities and athletes.

Brian has written 5 books, 4 of which are New York Times bestsellers: The Games Do Count, It’s How You Play the Game and more recently, George Washington’s Secret Six, Thomas Jefferson and the Tripoli Pirates, and Andrew Jackson and the Miracle of New Orleans, co-written with Don Yaeger. He currently resides in his childhood hometown of Massapequa, NY with his wife and 3 kids.
