Author Shares Stories and Anti-Bullying Message with Community

Jaimie Engle brings story time with a message to the State Small Business Expo

Melbourne, Florida, April 30, 2017: Stories are a part of our everyday lives. We see them in commercials, we read them in books, and we watch them on our favorite devices. From cavemen to emoticons, mankind connects on all levels through story. Over the past several years, award-winning author Jaimie Engle has used her love of storytelling to tackle difficult issues, such as bullying, and to promote literacy among youth. Engle has been invited to participate in the 2nd annual State Small Business Expo held at the Melbourne Square Mall, where she will be performing on stage and autographing books.
“One of my favorite memories is sitting on my Pop-Pop’s lap and listening to him make up stories about The Incredible Hulk,” shares Engle. “The art of oral storytelling has shaped my ear and voice as an indie author.”
Engle works with students in Brevard, Orange, and Lake counties through her Ambassador Program that focuses on the power of words in life and literature as it relates to bullying.
“I’ve gotten fantastic feedback from students, teachers and parents whose students came home talking about Jaimie’s program,” shares Donna Richardson, the media specialist of Port Malabar Elementary who hosted an author visit for the 2017 school year. “Looking forward to making this a regular thing at our school, but I’m thrilled that our first author visit was such a positive experience!”
The SSBX Small Business Expo is a FREE two-day shopping and networking event which takes place at the Melbourne Square Mall located at 1700 West New Haven Avenue, Melbourne, FL 32904 on Sat, May 6, 2017, 10:00 AM – Sun, May 7, 2017, 6:00 PM.
