Are you motivated to get your year rolling the write way?
Join Patricia Charpentier for the first Writing Your Life workshop of the new year this Saturday, January 21st from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. in the community room of Panera Bread, next to Florida Hospital.
This afternoon workshop is well worth a drive, and the afternoon timing makes for easy travel to and from Orlando.
Set your 2017 writing goals during the workshop, and she'll help you plan the necessary steps to meet them. Then, get the chance to write. She will bring in a variety of prompts-mostly verbal, sometimes musical, objects, photographs, whatever I can think of-and give you five to fifteen minutes to get started writing a memory related to the prompt.
After time is called, a few volunteers read their responses to the prompt, and then move on to the next writing assignment.
What's great about this type of workshop is that it helps you come up with topics you might not have otherwise thought to write about, and you leave with the beginnings of five to ten stories you can finish at home.
The fee for Write Your Way into 2017 is $55 and includes lunch, beverages, instruction, fun, and camaraderie with others who want to write.
Panera Bread is located at 2415 N. Orange Avenue in Orlando, on the corner of Orange Avenue and Rollins Street east next to Florida Hospital. Park in the garage on Rollins Street next to Panera's and bring in your ticket. The manager will validate the ticket, providing you with free parking.
Take advantage of this opportunity to jumpstart your writing. There are only a few spaces left, so register today.
