twenty toys of all time. And Johnson invented it entirely on accident. Trying
to create a new cooling system for refrigerators and air conditioners, inventor
Lonnie Johnson instead created the mechanics for the iconic toy. A successful

water gun that made his most memorable splash with kids and adults.
Jennifer Swanson is a middle school science instructor for John Hopkins University's Center for Talented Youth, as well as the award-winning author of more than 20 nonfiction and fiction books for children including several titles in the "How Things Work" series. In her book "Super Gear" she takes a close-up look at sports and nanotechnology; the cutting-edge science that manipulates objects at the atomic level. Nanotechnology is used to create high-tech swimsuits, tennis rackets, golf clubs, running shoes, and more, changing sports as we know it.
