SCHEDULING CONFLICT REQUIRES CHANGE OF LOCATION:
The Dan Pels Poetry Show, Wednesday May 4, 7 to 9 p.m., has been moved to:
1655 Dunlawton Ave #5, Port Orange, FL 32127, Phone:(386) 947-7929
[We are no longer at Wine-Me on Beach Street in Daytona Beach.]
Kevin Campbell, a talented poet himself, worked with MainStreet Art and Culture of DeLand to established a highly-competitive team of performance poets who will represent our area in regional and national competitions. Scott Velazco, an award-winning Nashville music producer, is a fine example of slam performance—full of emotion and gesture. Allen Minor, recently featured on WDSC TV’s Millennial Show, is a frequent winner at slam competitions.
Dan Pels, a well-published poet, emcees and adds his own surreal slant, performing bilingually in French and English. “The evening will be full of language fireworks. Wear protective clothing,” Pels advises. To help stoke the energy, Lorale is glad when members of the audience dance to her songs.
Pels’ show and the MACDeLand team are sponsored by Creative Happiness Institute, and made possible in part by funding from the Cultural Council of Volusia County and Michael Mullins Construction Company. The show runs from 7 and 9 p.m. at its new location—95 and Vine Wine Shop, 1655 Dunlawton Avenue (Suite #5), Port Orange, FL 32127—and is open to the public, free.
Wine-Me offers a wide selection of the world’s wines starting at $4 per glass. For more information about the Dan Pels Poetry Show, call Dan at 386-846-7966. To contact the store, call 386-871-7769.
