Wednesday, April 1st, from 7 to 9 p.m., The Dan Pels Show will take a turn toward the foolish. “Not that our featured performers are in any way silly,” says Pels, “but the date certainly lends itself to fun.” The evening features BJ Alligood of Port Orange, and Sydney Solis of DeLand.
In addition to her acclaim as a poet, Ms. Alligood is the host of Tomoka Poets monthly poetry evenings and chairperson of the Florida State Poets Association contests. Ms. Solis, renowned for her teaching Yoga to kids, is the author several books on the subject as well as author of stories and poetry.
Pels created his show in the style of salon evenings in his native Paris, which allows for flexible content perfect for an April Fools’ evening. Jazz singer, Lorale Mullins, recently featured for her talents in the Daytona News-Journal, will round out the evening’s entertainment with her songs and music to dance by.
Wine-Me is located at 204 South Beach Street, Daytona Beach, and offers a wide selection of the world’s wines starting at $4 per glass. The event is sponsored by the Creative Happiness Institute, and is open to the public, free.
