Strong Women Honored at Cinematique

In keeping with this year’s National Women’s Month theme, “Weaving Stories of Women’s Lives,” three local authors will present their novels together with a film on Sunday, February 8, at 2 p.m. at Cinematique.

The authors and their books will be: J. Nell Brown’s Omega Factor: Blood Moon’s Whisper; Mary Foca’s  Defy the Winds; and Judith Seal’s Family Honor. Each novel presents strong women who transform their lives and the lives of others amidst vivid historical backdrops.
In addition, there will be a showing of the movie, Easy Virtue, a romantic comedy about an American woman who marries into an upper class British family and has to cope with their stuffy virtues. The film stars Jessica Biels, Ben Barnes and Colin Firth.
J. Nell Brown is the pen name for Jeanelle Denise Brown, a physician who writes both inspirational nonfiction and novels.  Mary Foca, a college professor and expert on teaching strategies, is the recipient of numerous grants and awards and, under her married name, Mary Custureri, is president of Taylor and Seale Publishing.  Judith Seal, pen name for Julia Foca Ceravolo, is a local and national speaker who has written, hosted and co-produced twenty-eight nationally televised programs.
The event is cosponsored by the Creative Happiness Institute (CHI), Taylor and Seale Publishing and Cinematique, which is located at 242 S. Beach Street, Daytona Beach. Admission is $5.00. The authors will have their books to sign for those who wish to purchase them. For more information, go to, or contact Dr. Axelrod, director of CHI, 386-337-4567, .
