Wine Seminars at Murder on the Beach Bookstore

Murder on the Beach Mystery Bookstore is pleased to announce a series of wine seminars with noted local radio celebrity, author, and wine expert, Mark Spivak.

Tuesday February 18, 2014,   6-8 pm.                         Wine: Old World vs. New World

If you’re a seasoned wine drinker, you probably grew up drinking bottles from France, Italy and Germany, while younger consumers likely cut their teeth on wine from California, New Zealand, Australia and Chile. There are distinct differences between the two styles in terms of aroma, flavor, fruit profile and winemaking approach. Explore these two very different versions of wine production, illustrated with tasting samples of four wines.  Hors d’oeuvres served.  $50 per person.

Tuesday March 18, 2014,    6-8 pm.                            Salud!: The Wines of Spain

In terms of value for money, Spain is producing some of the best wine on the planet. In addition to being reasonably priced, Spanish wine is concentrated, flavorful and distinctive. Join local wine expert Mark Spivak for an exploration of basic styles such as Cava, Albarino, Grenache and Rioja, illustrated with tasting samples of four wines.  Hors d’oeuvres served.  $50 per person.
