Freedom Exhibit Sets Stage for 9-11-01 Memorial

FLAGLER BEACH, Florida - “Phoenix Rising,” an artistic tribute to 9-11, will be released publicly for the first time at Ocean Books and Art, 200 S. Oceanshore Blvd., Flagler Beach, Florida on Friday, September 6 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.

Special events are scheduled around the exhibit’s theme, “Freedom,” including:
Memorial Prayer, 6 p.m., for 9-11 survivors and family members offered by Pastor Robert Hayes of the Palm Coast Seventh Day Adventist Church, followed by the special unveiling.
Open Mic for individuals to share their thoughts about freedom. The event is free and refreshments will be served.

Artists contributing to this special event include Joe Campanellie, Bob Carlsen, Fred Haase and “Phoenix Rising” artist Ed Siarkowicz.  Mr. Siarkowicz captured a monumental moment while touring the World Trade Center reconstruction site in New York City. His “Phoenix Rising” piece of art is currently on display in the offices of former President George W. Bush, former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani, U.S. Congressman Ron DeSantis and Florida Representative Travis Hutson.

The event is held in conjunction with Flagler Beach’s First Friday “Music in the Park” Celebration that takes place in Veterans Park, just around the corner from Ocean Books & Art. The monthlong exhibit celebrates freedom from a variety of perspectives.
