To get things off to a fast start, the Diamond Ring blows up Windley’s car. Fortunately, Windley wasn’t in it at the time, but he heeds the warning and decides to disappear for a while .

First he goes to California to visit his lady, Sunny. However, he doesn’t stay hidden from trouble for long. So, he and Sunny return to the east coast and attempt to keep a low profile while drifting up the Intercoastal waterway.
