Rick Gangraw Releases First Mystery Book

Mystery books are always a delight to read - they are suspenseful, exhilarating and thought-provoking for avid reasons. New mystery writer Rick Gangraw released his first book entitled Secrets In The Ice this October.

Secrets In The Ice has a plot that evokes mystery, suspense, fear, curiosity and thrill. In the novel, Paul and Lisa, a couple who are on a romantic vacation in a Michigan town at a lakeside cabin, unknowingly come across a dead body in the town lake.

This shocking discovery leads to an exciting turn of events. They start to be eyed suspiciously by the townspeople, and after a second death in the lake, the couple becomes determined to investigate these deaths. Together with the help of a young librarian and her boyfriend, they soon find out that they appear to be linked to an unsolved 24 year old double murder in the same lake, far from being a new murder case.

The couple tries to piece the clues and evidence together to unravel the murder mystery. Rumors from some of the townspeople have it that the ghosts of the double murder from the past are taking revenge now after many years, and are responsible for the recent deaths. As the couple learns more about the murder mystery, they become surprised and soon find that everyone seems to have a part to play.

This upcoming mystery book by new author Rick Gangraw tells a tale of murder, suspense, intrigue and mystery. Mystery writers have a way of presenting clues and questions in an intriguing plot, and Gangraw has written a gripping, curious and spine-tingling story. Fans of mystery books can be expecting an enjoyable and thrilling read from this new mystery novel.

Secrets In The Ice by Rick Gangraw is published by White Feather Press and is available now at Amazon.com, Barnes and Noble, Books a Million and wherever books are sold. Book News from Walter Manning

Kingdom Living, Volume 3, Seeking the Truth

The intended purpose for this series is to assist the reader in establishing a deeper relationship of intimacy with God. It is the author’s sincere hope that this goal will be met. A typical chapter is three to four pages, thereby enabling the average person to consume its contents in about five minutes. Although each chapter is self-contained, the reader will experience a smooth transition from one to the next.

Volume 3 of the Kingdom Living series continues to develop the basic theme: How can we live in the Kingdom of God while living amidst the kingdoms of men? As with previous volumes, “Seeking the Truth” introduces biblical truths and principles for daily living by highlighting Scripture verses that support guidelines for living a holy life in and unholy world. Verses used are mined for both obvious and hidden truths in support of the overall theme.

Spiritual Snack Food, Volumes 2 & 3

This series is specifically geared for people who have a thirst for biblical truth, but are pressed for time. Each vignette is self-contained, is one page long, and should take the average reader approximately one minute to read. The goal of the series is to reorient the way we think about life by looking at it through the lens of the Bible. To accomplish this, the author introduces profound statements, some by famous people, some not. The size of the book is such that it will fit into a woman’s purse, or a man’s coat pocket.

Whereas volume 2, subtitled “Crunchies,” introduces numerous concepts that have deep spiritual significance, volume 3, subtitled “Chewies,” reaches back in time in order to thread the past to the future by using wisdom from those who’ve gone before us. Why? The answer: Wisdom and truth are not limited by time.

Two New books from the Yellow Dog Cafe

Stuart Bortonʼs new book Old Dog New Chefs is the perfect way to bring the family back into the kitchen. Stuartʼs book starts you with the basics and does not stray too far from there. After years of volunteer teaching 6th to 8th grade studentsʼ cooking classes, he learned first hand what those new to the kitchen wanted to learn about cooking.

Old Dog New Chefs is a great starter book with just enough detail to easily follow the recipe without going into so much detail that it prevents creativity. This easy to follow 162-page book has lots of pictures and illustrations, and is sure to be one of your favorite cookbooks for years to come. This is Stuartʼs 2nd cookbook following the success of his first book, Yellow Dog Cafe Cookbook,” in
2010. The book signing and launch date is set for November 27, 2012 at Yellow Dog Cafe in Malabar, FL. The book will be available at the Cafe or online at www.YellowDogCafe.com

A Great Deal for Lovers of Bill Allen Books

In January of 2011, when Bill Allen's first middle-grade/YA book, How to Slay a Dragon, was published by Bell Bridge Books, a date was set for the release of the second story: a date of January, 2012, a full year away. It looked as if the full Journals of Myrth series would not be available for two more years. What's worse: Bell Bridge Books began to grow, and soon they were handling far more authors and titles than anyone would have predicted. Consequently the second Journals of Myrth story, How to Save a Kingdom, arrived slightly late, debuting in February of this year instead of January.

But then plans were announced to release How to Stop a Witch, the third (and last?) of the Journals of Myrth series, by August. Having just those revisions ahead of him, plus the full-time job, his web master duties, his Space Coast Writers' Guild responsibilities, his feeble marketing efforts, and his busy family life, Bill was desperate for something to do. He introduced Orson Buggy's Lessons for Losers, the first of a new Bumpy Daze of Orson Buggy series for middle-grade readers, in April of this year, then dusted off one of his older works and put out Hanging by a Thread a month later. Now, well before the holidays, he has released the fifth and final book of 2012: Orson Buggy's Separation Anxiety.

DEAL NEWS: With the release of the second Orson Buggy book, the Kindle version of the first has been reduced to just $.99. If you are someone who likes to laugh, has ever felt the world is out to get you, or just feels a compelling desire to root for the underdog, check out Orson Buggy's Lessons for Losers here: http://tinyurl.com/aft3vyk

According to Bill Allen, it's guaranteed to make you chuckle.

Book Signing at Art Gallery of Viera -- Robert Lebron releases DaVinci-Picasso Dialogue

The Art Gallery of Viera will host a Champagne Book Signing for the newly released book “Da Vinci-Picasso Dialogue-Two Art Geniuses Clash in The Heavens” on Sunday, November 18, 2012 from 2-4 pm.  This is Mr. Lebrón’s first foray into fiction about the imagined interactions of two of the world’s most renowned artists.  His novel is also illustrated with Mr. Lebrón’s own witty and intriguing art work.
Robert Lebrón is a distinguished artist in his own right, and certainly one of the finest and most successful artists of our time.  He was born in New York City in 1928, delving into the arts at a very young age.  He studied at the New York High School of Music and Arts as well as The Arts Student League of New York.  He was soon drawing cartoons for a local paper which led him to working with Walt Disney artists.

Mr. Lebrón developed his own personal style, painting with just a palette knife, and concentrating on painting street scenes around the western world.  His paintings have been published in prestigious journals and each painting is full of life and tells it’s own story in Lebrón’s inimitable way. His most famous body of work, a series of paintings depicting the tragic trials of the Donner party is on display at the emigrant museum in Trucklee, California.
The public is invited to the Champagne Book Signing at The Art Gallery of Viera.  Also featured and available for purchase will be Robert F. Lebrón’s  original paintings and prints.  For more information see www.artgalleryofviera.com

A Christmas Moon by Barbara A Beswick

A Christmas Moon by Barbara A. Beswick is designed as a gift to be given and read to a child who loves bedtime stories. This one is a Christmas story, blending the Baby Jesus’ birth with Santa and Saint Nick. It leaves spaces for the recipient child’s name to be written in by either the child or the presenter’s hand, making it an exciting and cherished keepsake from someone special.
A grandmother is visiting her grandchild and his/her parents on Christmas Eve, bringing pies and cookies for the family. The child has been allowed to stay up a little later; but it’s bedtime, now, and grandmother is begged to do the story-telling before sleep. The moon is a big, silvery disc, shining through the child’s bedroom window as the story unfolds with questions and answers about the holiday that the child may help fill in. Barbara invented this story as she told it to her grandchild one Christmas Eve when the moon was full.

About the Author
Beswick has taught art to children and adults of all ages for 40 years in PA, NJ, UT and FL. She was published by Prentice-Hall and Every Child An Artist is still sought after on the Internet as the books are being purged from libraries across the United States. It is known for its innovative ideas on teaching both drawing and crafts to youngsters of all ages. She also co-authored a rigorous and doable school reform plan, Save Our Schools, which will be forwarded to Washington after the next election.

Several book signings have been scheduled including Nov. 7th at Beef O' Brady's  and Nov. 29th at the Kenilworth Lodge, both in Sebring.  Beswick is the leader of the Florida Writer's Association group, "Sebring Scribblers and Scribes" and can be reached through her email at barbeswick@yahoo.com or by calling 863-402-9181.   Order, for 9.99, at any bookstore; or online at amazon or barnesandnoble.com.
