News from Joseph Cordaro
Joseph Cordaro's story "The Wedding Dress" is a heartwarming story and will be published in the Winter Edition of Linnet's Wings.
Cordaro is the author of the novel The Cost of Courage. It is a tale of war that crosses generations and battles. It's a narrative about the aftereffects of combat. It has a subplot of romance and is told in a heartbreaking and relevant voice.
When Lieutenant Commander Charles Courtland, a hero of the British Royal Navy, returns home after being wounded in the 1916 Battle of Jutland, it becomes clear that his most lasting scars are naked to the eye. As he continues to fight nightmarish demons, it's his family, especially Charles' young son Brent, who pays the price. Unable to ever truly connect with Brent, Charles is distant near the point of assumed disdain, unavailable, and ill-equipped with the rigors of preparing his son to be a man or for him to be a soldier. Brent follows his father s footsteps to become a naval officer during the earliest days of World War II. Ironically, it s the most secret mission of the war that nearly destroys Brent, as war had nearly destroyed his father. With gripping irony and poignant charm, The Cost of Courage is a war novel like no other.
