“A Matter Of Pride” Selected as a Florida Writers Association

2011 Royal Palm Literary Awards Finalist

Florida author, Jane Gill's inaugural work A Matter of Pride has been selected as a finalist for the 2011 Royal Palm Literary Awards by the Florida Writers Association. Nominated in the category of Adult Book-Length Women's Fiction (Published), Ms. Gill's inspirational first novel tells the story of Luella Conners as she discovers that her family of potato farmers was not a hindrance to her success, as she had always believed, but her enabler.

The novel explores Florida's unique history and weaves it into a story of a successful contemporary African American woman discovering and ultimately embracing her family roots. The Royal Palm Literary Awards will be presented at the annual Florida Writers Association conference in October.
