Book News... LIVE Ringer by Lynda Fitzgerald

About LIVE Ringer

LIVE Ringer features reluctant investigative reporter, Allie Grainger, who returns to Cape Canaveral to claim her inheritance. Her only plans when she arrives are to give herself time to mourn her aunt’s recent death and the end of her six-year marriage to a philandering worm of a diplomat, but on her first full day home, she stumbles on a woman's body floating in the water at the Canaveral jetty, a woman who looks enough like Allie to be her twin sister.

Four men enter Allie’s life. Joe Odum is a childhood friend, all grown up and turned sheriff’s deputy. Cord Arbutten, the county sheriff, is the second, and he makes it clear he doesn’t want Allie back in town. The third is the editor of the local paper, who hints to Allie that he was her aunt’s lover. The last is a stranger who shows up in town the day the body is found. Allie is drawn to him until she learns that he was suspected of killing his wife a few years back.

Allie is pretty sure one of them is the killer, and she begins to suspect she might be his next victim. Summoning up courage that surprises even her, she begins trying to discover the truth; but when the bullets start flying, Allie gets the shock of her life.

LIVE Ringer is the first in a mystery series set in Brevard County, Florida. LIVE Ammo is scheduled to be released in late 2011.

Way to go Linda -- she is an awesome person -- I had the pleasure of knowing and working with Linda prior to be a published writer when she was living in Maryland. She is fulfilling her dreams made reality -- now I can say -- I knew her when!! Good luck and can't wait til the next one!

In LIVE RINGER, Lynda Fitzgerald is able to combine the elements of characters that ring true and evoke an emotional attachment with a mystery with plot turns that keep you fully involved with the increasing tension until the very end. Having lived in Florida, she evokes a sense of Florida that is as satisfying as a Florida vacation. Lynda evokes all five senses through here excellent command of setting, mood and tempo. You can smell the salt air and hear the surf rolling in.

If you haven't read Lynda's previous novels, "If Truth Be Told" or "Of Word's & Music", "Live Ringer" is an excellent place to start. You'll fall in love with the characters and can't wait for the next book in the series.

How exciting to hear from someone in Baltimore! I worked there over twenty years ago. Come on. Don't be anonymous. I'd love to know who still remembers me.

Lynda is an amazing author. There isn't anyone I've met who hasn't said they were unable to put her book down while reading it (that goes for any of her books!). That speaks volumes. She can make you feel like you were born and raised near a Florida beach! Lynda is truly a wonderful, creative writer who has her readers always wanting more.

I have read all of Lynda's books and it is impossible to select a favorite. She a talented author. And
anyone who knows and loves and misses old Florida will savor this newest mystery. Lynda puts the reader right there crossing causeways,in clapboard cottages and on wide sugar beaches.
