Art with Heart

Elizabeth St. Hilaire Nelson is a childhood friend of Cherie Stannard who was paralyzed in a car accident on September 30, 2010. St. Hilaire Nelson is an Orlando area fine artist who called on her network of artist friends in order to put together a fundraising book.

"Art with Heart" is a 52-page book that features artists from all over the country as well as internationally. These artists all donated one image to be published with their contact information in the book. St. Hilaire Nelson hopes that everyone featured in the book might know someone who would purchase it.

The cost of the book is $55.95, it's a hardcover, image wrapped, full color on premium paper. The proceeds ($12 per book) go to Cherie's family for modifications to her sister's home (adding ramps and widening doorways) so that Cherie can live with and be cared for by her sister and brother when she returns from rehab in Atlanta. Cherie's siblings have had to quit their jobs and attend rehab with her so that they can learn how to provide her 24-hour care. The family will be spending Christmas at Shepherd Center this year.

Thank you so very much for including this book in your blog. This book has been a labor of love and I can only hope that it will help this family in the face of tragedy. I have known Cherie since I was 5 years old, we attended school together all the way through high school graduation and have stayed in touch through adulthood. I learned how to ride a two wheeler on a hand-me-down bike from her brother, once in a while her sister actually babysat for me and my sister. The book includes a dedication that explains the cause, so if you give it as a gift, it would make anyone feel to know a contribution was made on their behalf!

In addition to the book, you can make ANY size donation to Cherie's charitable trust at www.CherieStannard.com

Thank you for reaching out to others thus time of year.
