Meet Literary Agents at the SCWG Writing Conference in January 2011

The Space Coast Writers' Guild Writing Conference is scheduled for January 28 and 29 in Cocoa Beach Florida. The conference will offer session on a variety of writing and marketing topics. Paige Wheeler
Paige Wheeler is a founding partner of Folio Literary Management, LLC. Her goal was to create a literary agency that truly serviced its authors and their intellectual property. With the formation of Folio, she sells both domestic and foreign rights, as well as offers the services of a marketing department, a speakers bureau and licensing capabilities.

She is looking for upscale commercial fiction and nonfiction books that tell a unique story or ones in which the author has a huge platform.

Fiction: All commercial fiction and upscale (think book club) fiction, as well as women's fiction, romance (all types), mystery, thrillers, and psychological suspense. She enjoys both historical fiction as well as contemporary fiction.

Nonfiction: She is looking for both narrative nonfiction and prescriptive nonfiction especially where the book has a huge platform and the author has something new to say. Areas of interest: lifestyle, relationship, parenting, business, popular/trendy reference projects and women's issues.

Susan Hawk
For the past 15 years, Susan Hawk has worked in children's book marketing, most recently as the marketing director at Henry Holt Books for Young Readers,

She loves the thrill of finding something wonderful and imagining where it can go. She is looking for young adult and middle grade books; non-fiction and fiction (especially literary fiction), as well as fantasy, science-fiction, historical fiction and mystery.

Lois Winston

Jenny Bent
