Mystery writer Diane Gilbert Madsen, author of “A Cadger’s Curse” and “Hunting for Hemingway” spoke to the FWA St. Petersburg Writers Group at their Mystery In A Month Workshop on May 1st. Diane, author of the DD McGil Literati Mystery Series, presented basic guidelines and hints on how to craft unique characters and how to create dialogue that fits the character for the aspiring mystery writers and editors in attendance.

The Workshop provides a unique experience for a limited number of participants to come together for 3 Saturday afternoons over a 4- week period to produce a complete short story on its way to publication. Groups are guided through the workshop with the same editor, providing continuity over the 4-week period. The next session in the workshop is May 15th from 2 pm to 5 pm. All workshop sessions are held at A Corner of England Tearoom, 6297 Central Ave. in St. Petersburg.

Diane has donated the honorarium to the St. Petersburg Public Library in the name of the Florida Writers Association St. Petersburg Writers Group.
