Penny and Rio: The Locked Doghouse Mystery

Penny and Rio: The Locked Doghouse Mystery is the latest adventure of the crime-fighting dog duo, Penny and Rio. A sequel to the award-winning Penny and Rio: The Mysterious Backyard Meeting, this book finds the dynamic canine detectives heavily involved in another case.

Squeaky the mouse desperately needs their help to recover his precious belongings from a locked doghouse next door. But will Hobbes, the Great Dane, who lives in the yard object? After a futile search through the yard for an elusive key to the doghouse, the detectives are faced with an insurmountable challenge. Penny, the ever-resourceful canine, decides to chew off a newly planted tree in hopes of prying off the lock. But when that plan fails, she is at a loss. Through an inventive plan, the quick-witted pair strive to solve this mystery. Can they recover Squeaky’s belongings before the doghouse is destroyed? Follow along as the determined detectives, Penny and Rio, discover that they can do anything, as long as they work together.
